A little bit more about me and this blog…

Awesome things are happening everywhere everyday.  There are new things to discover and new things to see.  There is also a rich, diverse history scattered throughout the world and every little corner can have a surprise around it.  Along with delicious food.  Discovering and experiencing as many of these as I can is one of my favorite things.  This isn’t always easy for me, mainly because of financial restrictions and an autoimmune disease that leaves overwhelming amount of food allergies but I make it happen and you can too.  What you’ll find here are stories of adventures on and off the beaten track, budget travel ideas, tips for traveling with food allergies, running trails, and many things in between.

My name is Alison Rose.  I am lucky to call both Northern California and New York City

at Schloss Nymphenburg

(okay, actually the charming square mile of Hoboken, NJ) my home.  I have traveled throughout North America, South America, Europe, Southern Africa, and a bit of Asia.  My career in theater, as a food writer, a marathoner, and my love of travel keep me on the road for a good part of the year.  I love exploring everywhere I go down to the nitty gritty, spending time on the beaten path and getting lost off of it, as well as meeting new people.  I love to explore the history, art, music, architecture, and culture of everywhere I go.  I love food and despite my allergies still fill my stomach and satisfy my palate (on most days).  I love to run and to find new trails wherever I go as I find that to be a great way to explore a new place.  And I do everything on the tightest budget I can figure.  You won’t find anything about luxury travel here but I promise you will find everything else that I have mentioned.

Please feel free to contact me with any travel questions.  Go to my contact page to fill out the contact form and I will do my best to get back to you within 48 hours (unless I’m somewhere without wifi!).  I cannot guarantee to have an answer to every question but I will get back to you regardless.

Happy reading and happy travels!
